Moraira property prices - highest in the region 2020!
As we at Casas Ambiente Moraira have many properties for sale in and around Moraira we thought that this Blog Post should talk about prices and reasons why foreigners choose to buy a property in Moraira.
According to a recent article in Costa News, Moraira is one of the most sought after towns on the Costa Blanca, with house prices here costing way above the regional average. The article continued, calling Moraira the “Valencian Golden Mile of the Housing Market”.
At the close of 2019, Moraira registered the highest property prices on the Costa Blanca for second-hand homes. According to an annual report from pisos.com, land in Moraira costs an average of €2,824 per m2.
That is almost double the Valencian Community average of €1,429 per m2, and above regional capitals of Valencia, Alicante and Castellon. There is of course a good reason for this, with it’s amazing landscapes, healthy lifestyle, fresh produce, renowned restaurants, ease of access, Moraira makes an ideal location to buy a home and settle down.
About Moraira
Moraira is a small upmarket seaside town situated in the mountainous region of Marina Alta on the east coast of Spain, with spectacular landscapes and fabulous clean beaches. It is known for it’s quiet and peaceful surroundings.
Moraira has some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Blanca
With 8km of pristine coastline, Moraira has some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Blanca.
Ampolla Beach
Close to the restaurants, promenade and playground, this is the best beach in Moraira for families with young children. The soft white sand is ideal for building sand castles and relaxing with children and the sea stays shallow for quite a distance, making it safe for them to learn to swim. At the entrance to the beach is a small stream with ducks, geese, and other wildlife that the children can view. Further down, the stream runs into the sea and you will often see children paddling or playing happily with toy boats or using skimming boards here. The beach also offers a Volleyball Net and a childrens climbing frame.
El Portet Beach
El Portet is perhaps the most picturesque beach in town. This more secluded beach offers soft white sand and clean turquoise water. Here you will find yoga classes, and watersports, including paddle surfing, diving or kayaking. It is also a great location to go snorkelling, due to the clear water allowing an unimpeded view of the sea bed. El Portet also has a small promenade with restaurants where you can dine outdoors, breath in the fresh sea air and enjoy the view. The views from the hills above the bay are breathtaking. You can see the Penyal d’Ifach rock in Calpe. It’s no surprise then, that many luxury villas are located here.
Climate - Healthy Lifestyle in Moraira
The World Health Organization called neighbouring town Javea ‘environmentally near perfect’ and classed it as one of the healthiest places in the world to live. Moraira’s climate is almost identical, offering relatively low humidity and over 300 days of sunshine a year, with hot summers and mild winters. The surrounding foothills provide protection from harsh weather during the winter while creating a natural vortex for cooling sea breezes in the summer. This unique micro-climate makes this area a joy to live in all year round. Because of this comfortable climate, people enjoy spending more time outdoors, and tend to feel healthier as a result. Whether going for a gentle stroll on the promenade, hiking in the mountains or walking one of the many nature trails, Moraira has a lot to offer those wishing to get outdoors more and enjoy nature.
The Market Every friday there is a special fruit and vegetable market in Moraira, where you can choose the freshest local produce, and buy gifts for family and friends back home. This is quite an attraction for holiday makers and habitants alike.
Food - Restaurants
Originally a small fishing village, the fresh fish market of Moraira is still one of the most popular on the Costa Blanca. And many of the local Spanish restaurants here specialise in fresh fish dishes. There are also many international restaurants here including Argentinian, Italian, Indian, Indonesian, British and Chinese to name a few. With so much choice of fresh high quality food and such beautiful scenery, Moraira is always an excellent choice for dining out.
Cultural Diversity
As well as the local spanish, who are very friendly and welcoming, Moraira is home to thousands of foreigners from all over europe, including inhabitants from England, Holland and Germany. It is easy to relocate here and find help in your language.
What makes Moraira Stand out? Without a doubt, the Costa Blanca is all very beautiful and has plenty to offer someone looking to relocate to Spain. But what makes Moraira stand out in particular? Moraira has been called a real Gem, it is clean, picturesque, well-connected being closer to the airports than its neighbouring Javea or Denia. It has that ‘je ne sais quoi’, something special that is difficult to put into words without visiting and experiencing for yourself.
Moraira is a slightly more upmarket town than some of the other areas on the Costa Blanca, offering a more peaceful relaxing environment, with less parties and nightclubs, it tends to attract a more wholesome discerning crowd. With only 10,000 inhabitants, this small town feels more like a home, and less like a package holiday resort. The continued popularity of the Costa Blanca as a whole is pushing up the property prices for both those wishing to buy here and rentals, and with this area being still relatively undiscovered, we feel buying property in Moraira will offer high investment profitability in the future. We love Moraira, and we are sure that you will too. If you are looking to buy a property on the Costa Blanca, why not give us a call and we will help you find the perfect property for your needs.
